Giusseppe Restuarante Shreveport Dinner Service

Went out for my birthday and decided to try the dinner service. We had been here before for lunch and loved it. Dinner was not dis-appointing at all. It was a holiday weekend, so they were very slow for a Saturday night, which made it better for us though. They have a very solid wine list and a full bar. You have the choice of inside or outside seating. We sat inside due to the heat. It was still 98 degrees at 7:30pm. They have some of the best antipasti options I have ever seen on a menu. All of the cheeses are from Italy and the meats are very good quality. You can have the chef put one together or you can select your own. I picked mine this time. For the pasta course, I had proiscutto ravioli with a pork shoulder ragout. It was excellent. Diana had the best mushroom risotto I have ever tasted. Actually, it was the best risotto I have ever tasted. It was cooked perfectly. Main courses were Oso Buco and Chianti braised beef tips. Both were served over polenta. I have never tasted polenta so smooth in all my dining experiences. Normally there is a grainy texture to polenta; this one was as smooth as mash potatoes. We wrapped up the meal with some desert wine and a raspberry soufflé. Well done Chef. This meal ranks as the second best meal I have had here in Shreveport. I recommend this to anyone who wants a nice meal.

As a matter of fact, I will be back there on the 14th, they are having a chefs special menu dinner that night. 5 courses with wine pairings for $65 a person. If you are in the area, you should attend.

Had a beautiful lunch here. Can't wait to try dinner.The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. The kitchen is an open design so that you may see the cooks working on your dish as well as other projects for the day. The food was excellent and the wine list was solid. The antipasto plate was to die for. Meat and cheeses from Italy. Awesome. Diana had the fish of the day. It was prepared very well and was a very good portion. The foods we got were excellent and the prices matched the service.
